Sharing your location with family and friends can be very useful. Whether you want to let someone know where you are or need directions, your iPhone 16 Pro Max makes it easy. In this guide, we will show you simple steps to share your location.
Method 1: Using Messages App
- Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
- Select the conversation with the person you want to share your location with.
- Tap on the contact name at the top of the screen.
- Choose Send My Current Location to share your exact location immediately.
- If you want to share your location for a longer time, tap Share My Location and choose a duration (1 hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely).
Method 2: Using Find My App
- Open the Find My app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the People tab at the bottom.
- Select Share My Location and enter the contact’s name or phone number.
- Tap Send and choose the duration for sharing (1 hour, until the end of the day, or indefinitely).
- The person will receive a notification with your location.
Method 3: Using Google Maps
- Open the Google Maps app (download it from the App Store if you don’t have it).
- Tap on your profile picture at the top right.
- Select Location Sharing and tap Share location.
- Choose how long you want to share your location.
- Select a contact or copy the link and send it manually.
Method 4: Using Whatsapp
- Open the Whatsapp app (download it from the App Store if you don’t have it).
- Tap on the contact name you want to share your location with.
- Select Location Sharing and tap Share location.
How to Stop Sharing Your Location
If you no longer want to share your location, you can stop it easily:
- In the Messages app: Go to the contact’s details and tap Stop Sharing My Location.
- In the Find My app: Tap on the person’s name and choose Stop Sharing Location.
- In Google Maps: Open Location Sharing and tap Stop.
